Thin Stone

Stone Veneer – Manufactured / Natural

A stone veneer is a thin layer of stone placed used along with another material or structure. You probably are aware that stone is a very durable and attractive material to design around. You'd be surprised of what they are capable of becoming. A design that includes stone veneer will add an aesthetic appeal to your home or landscape or perhaps your place of business.

Types of Stone Veneer

There are basically two types of stone veneer; those made of natural stone and those made of manufactured stone veneer. The majority of natural stone used for stone veneer come from quarries such as limestone or fieldstone. They are thinly cut and sawn for consistency in thickness and weight.

Manufactured stone veneer, on the other hand, is replicated stone veneer that has the same look and feel as that of a natural stone. This stone may also be called artificial stone; flexible stone veneer and stacked stone veneer. Although both kinds of stone veneers can achieve the "stone" look / effect that you would to achieve, each has its own advantages.

There are some important differences between natural and manufactured veneer that may guide you as you decide which is right for you.
